Applied Behavior Analysis is distinguished from other therapeutic or educational modalities in This workshop is intended to help behavior analysts examine their own manner of approaching people who are different from them; to identify parts of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s Guidelines for Responsible Conduct and Disciplinary Standards that are most relevant to working with people different from oneself; to examine ethical dilemmas that may arise from working with people different from oneself and possible resolution of these dilemmas; and to provide participants with tools they can use to navigate work with folks different from themselves when they are unsure. This workshop will provide essential ethical and practical guidance for Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts who work in areas, like the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and others, with greatly diverse citizenry.
