Region 4 Transition Professionals Community of Practice (CoP)

Join a collaborative group of transition focused professionals in a Community of Practice (CoP) that shares relevant and impactful information and resources for divisions in region 4.

Ongoing

Purpose: To discuss AT related issues, share ideas and resources, problem solve and network.
Who: Division AT Coordinators
When: Fall, Winter, and Spring

Purpose: Provides learning boosts, resources, and professional networking for selected Region 4 Autism Leaders.
Who: 2 to 3 representatives selected by each school division
When: Monthly during the school year and one state conference

Purpose: Provides timely and relevant professional learning to implement instruction for students with dyslexia within VLA implementation, including resources and professional networking for Region 4 dyslexia advisors.
Who: Region 4 educators serving in the role of dyslexia advisor and have identified themselves to the VDOE
When: Seasonal CoPs

Purpose: Sessions are facilitated by TTACs to share best practices and resources on specific topics related to co-planning, co-instructing, co-assessing and SDI.
Who: Excellence in Co-Teaching Initiative Teams
When: Quarterly

Purpose: To strengthen the understanding and implementation of effective transition planning aligned with Indicator 13.
Who: Secondary special education teachers
When: Self-paced course

Purpose: To exchange information and best practices, including practices for students with disabilities.
Who: Region 4 Math Directors and Co-Directors
When: Quarterly and two in-person full day workshops per year

Purpose: Supports Region 4 educators in professional knowledge of evidence-based learning practices and processes through collaboration, resource sharing, and reflection in regard to the Orton Gillngham methodology.
Who: Region 4 educators providing Orton Gillingham instruction and have been trained by the VDOE
When: Seasonal CoPs and bi-monthly office hours

Purpose: Supports education professionals to learn, improve, and generate new knowledge of transition related practices and processes through collaboration, sharing, and reflection.
Who: Transition Coordinators, special education and general education teachers, administrators, specialists (i.e., OT, PT, school counselor)
When: Monthly

Purpose: Provides learning boosts, resources and professional networking on priority topics identified by Region 4 VESOL educators.
Who: Educators and instructional leaders providing VESOL instruction
When: 4 to 5 times a school year

Purpose: Provides BACB CEs and networking for Virginia school-based behavior analysts
Who: Public school division behavior analysts
When: Monthly
